Review By LAWonder10:

This colorful, well-written book for children is attractively illustrated by talented QBN Studios. The illustrations are simple but well defined in relaxing earth-tone colors.

This is a cleverly illustrated book in explaining to very young children how the brain functions and in what ways it has an effect in helping create our physical and mental bodies which makes us unique.

The wording is written in perfect rhyme so it makes is easy to read and more easily learned by the listener.

This 34-page book is great for home, classroom, library, and Summer Reading Programs!

I offer a Five Stars rating. This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review.

Guest Post:

In a World Where You Can be Anything, Be Kind In a world where you can be anything, be kind. That is a quote that is regularly said in my home to my two boys. Compassion and kindness for others is at the heart and soul of our family values. So, when my own son was diagnosed with extra needs when he was 5, those words were never truer. I knew he would have an uphill battle when it came to compassion and kindness from others, and I decided I was going to try and help make the world a little kinder for him. That’s when I decided to write What Makes Me…Me. What Makes Me…Me is the story of my son and other neurodiverse kids like him. What it’s like for these kids to spend a day trying their hardest to sit still in class, pay attention, and to live with disorders like OCD and Tourette Syndrome. When I thought about what I wanted to write, I knew I wanted it to be for young kids. I chose an easy rhyming pattern to make it fun and easy for kids to read on their own. I also knew that I wanted the story to teach a lesson— a lesson of compassion. I saw my son struggle with other kids coming from the fact that those around him didn’t understand what he was going through. It mattered that my son and others would have representation in their classroom.

To help spread the message of kindness and compassion, I donate 2 books for every book purchased. So far, I have been able to donate over 350 books to classrooms nationwide. Compassion comes through education and understanding, and I hope that my book can help kids all over the world learn to be a bit more compassionate towards those who are different than them.
